You need a great website. Today’s businesses need an online presence to be competitive in their marketplace. It’s an absolute must. Do the research and have a website built that is professional, informative and up to date. A Facebook presence will do for a while, but not forever.

The colors of your website need to complement the colors and style of your company logo/brand. If you don’t have a logo or company brand and plan to have one later … have one created before you build the website.

Include these basic elements:

  • An eye-catching, user-friendly and informative home page. Website visitors should see immediately what services you offer and why yours is the best company they should contact right now.
  • Contact information prominently displayed on every page. If you are a service industry, instead of saying “Contact us” … say something like “How can we help you?” Make that form big and bold.
  • Customer-oriented content.
  • An “About Us” page that tells your story. Keep it relatively brief … but warm.
  • Professional photography/images – this matters.
  • Smiling, friendly faces.
  • Customer quotes/testimonials/reviews.
  • Product or Service explanations – these can be blog posts with individually dedicated subject matter.
  • Educational content – again, you can use dedicated blog posts for this. Subject titles should be descriptive of the post content, designed for easy search and find.
  • A clear call to action on every page and every blog post.
  • Include a hiring statement like, “Interested in joining a winning team? Appy online” with a link to Smartsheet form.
  • A programmed chatbot that answers the same questions as your AI for telephone calls.
  • Mobile-friendly design.
  • Use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and track website analytics.

If you wish to save money, you can write the content for the website yourself; plan to invest time in writing intentional, customer-centric prose. Have a professional polish the wording.

Plan your pages according to industry standards. The following pages are the most common:

  • Home
  • Services
  • About
  • Blog
  • Contact
